These are artists deeply committed to the craft of cinema—creators and seekers of unique imagery who are always willing to share their passion and expertise with participants.

Jarek Żarski

ceo, founder

The mastermind behind it all. The originator and founder of the world’s first international film festival dedicated to one-take filmmaking. He oversees the entire operation of the MASTERSHOT FILM FESTIVAL. A true enthusiast of film technology.

By education a journalist, he is also the co-owner of the Poznań-based advertising agency Fresh Studio. A video specialist with expertise in both equipment and production. He has been involved in film and photography technology for over 10 years and serves as the CEO of WINMAR.

Renata Żybura

project manager

Responsible for planning and organizing activities. She oversees the execution and management of individual projects within the MASTERSHOT FILM FESTIVAL. Her role includes event planning and coordination, as well as communication with the festival’s partners and sponsors.

Sharp, energetic, and sociable—with an open mind, broad horizons, and an insatiable curiosity about the world. She thinks and analyzes quickly, acts efficiently, and always meets her goals. Rational and well-organized, she brings over a decade of professional experience in planning and implementing marketing projects.

She can’t imagine life without regular flamenco and contemporary dance. A devoted fan of French psychological dramas and the films of David Lynch.

Paweł Czarkowski

art director

A literary critic, screenwriter, cinematographer, and film director. Creator of documentaries, short films, music videos, and the first Polish interactive film www.zamek-film.com, which received recognition at Filmteractive 2014 and Cross Video Days 2015.

He is the founder of Movlab, a film studio specializing in film production and innovative visual storytelling techniques. At the festival, he is responsible for the educational content of the workshops and the artistic quality of the films presented.

Patryk Piłasiewicz

musician

Double bassist, conductor, composer, and assistant professor in the Jazz Department at the Academy of Music in Poznań. He holds a postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in conducting. Since 2001, he has led the Academy’s Big Band and pursued his own artistic initiatives at the intersection of musical and visual arts.

He participates in academic and artistic conferences, delivering lectures on the connections between music and other creative disciplines such as architecture, photography, and film. He also performs as a soloist (double bass) in the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra.

He is the founder and president of the Krzysztof Komeda Art Lovers Association “Astigmatic” and winner of the 1st Prize at the International Krzysztof Komeda Composition Competition (1997), as well as numerous awards and distinctions at big band festivals and competitions (Nowy Tomyśl, Bydgoszcz).

Since 2012, he has been leading a project commemorating the role of Poles in breaking the Enigma code. As part of this project, the archive of Poznań-based mathematician and musician Henryk Zygalski was rediscovered and digitized.

He was an artist-in-residence at CK Zamek (2018) and at the Enigma Cipher Center (2021).

Staszek Mąderek

film producer, director

Film producer, director, screenwriter, cinematographer, and VFX supervisor. A graduate of the Łódź Film School (PWSFTviT), he is passionate about film scoring and acting. He is the creator of feature films, TV series, commercials, music videos, and independent short comedies—such as Stars in Black, an internet cult hit of the year 2000.

He has directed cutscenes and motion-capture sessions, and co-developed gameplay for numerous video games. He successfully experiments with emerging special effects techniques, including photogrammetry and 360/180 filmmaking for virtual reality.

He is currently finishing work on his original full-length feature film Stars in Black – the Movie—a thrilling sci-fi comedy filled with sensuality and cutting-edge visual effects.

Tomasz Żarski

design director

An artistic soul with over 15 years of experience in advertising and media. Co-founder of the Poznań-based advertising agency Fresh Studio, where he served for many years as Head of Creative.

He is also a director, designer, musician, and composer. A graduate of the Łódź Film School, he is currently the owner of Red Ghost, a production company specializing in digital media in the broadest sense.

At the MASTERSHOT FILM FESTIVAL, he is responsible for the festival’s artistic direction, visual identity, and media relations.

Kamil Przybylak

director, dop

A cinematographer and film director with experience gained both in studio environments and on extreme film sets. He is a specialist in camera stabilizers such as MoVI and Ronin, and regularly shoots, leads training sessions, and gives lectures on their use in film production. He also operates drones as both a pilot and aerial cinematographer.

His credits include work for BBC Scotland, where he shot footage for the network’s largest documentary production in recent years, filmed across the USA and in Dubai. In Hong Kong, he captured footage for CNN, including a television spot featuring journalist Kristie Lu Stout, and in Canada, he filmed timelapses and drone shots for a promotional film commissioned by Destination Canada, the Canadian Ministry of Tourism.

In 2015, he completed the massive project “Dream Walker Zakynthos,” creating the largest film ever made about rope jumping—a production viewed by over a million people worldwide.

Piotr Majdrowicz

Film culture animator, author and coordinator of several educational programs, including: the 18th edition of the International One-Take Film Workshop and Competition in Łeba; five editions of the long-term film education project 321-Start held in schools across western Poland; originator and organizer of the first editions of the OFF CINEMA Festival in Poznań; seven editions of Kino Ciśnień in Leszno; and fifteen editions of 1 Minuta in the Greater Poland region.

He is the creator of several short narrative films that have received awards at independent film festivals in Poland and abroad. A long-time TVP employee with over a decade of professional experience as a camera operator, he has dedicated many years of his career to exploring and mastering the art of one-take filmmaking.
