The Masters of One-Take film workshop in Łódź was carried out over three intensive days with a large group of several dozen fantastic participants—residents of Łódź, passionate filmmakers, and true enthusiasts of cinematic art.
On the first day, during classes held at the Museum of Cinematography, we discussed the submitted scripts with participants, planned the production, and organized work across various departments: cinematography, directing, set design and costumes, production, lighting, and sound.
On the following day, participants learned how to prepare a film set, operate the equipment, choreograph movement and action on set, and work with lighting and camera to produce a dynamic moving mastershot. The filming took place in one of the buildings of the Manufaktura complex—an iconic and revitalized landmark of Łódź that reflects the city’s rich history.
On the third day, the participants worked on set in one of the city’s tenement houses on Piotrkowska Street—another location deeply significant to Łódź. During an incredibly intense day of filming, a narrative mastershot was created—telling the fictional story of a modern couple, their unspoken secrets, hidden emotions, and struggles within their relationship.
Excellent organization, seamless teamwork, and the authentic cinematic chemistry that developed among all those involved turned the workshop into a great source of inspiration, a wellspring of knowledge for the participants, and a deeply unifying experience for the local young filmmaking community.
