A One-Shot Film – A Unique Method We’ve Been Developing for 5 Years
A one-shot film is a unique format and working method we’ve been developing for five years now. This time, we created a film inspired by the story of Okrąglak – a symbolic place, an icon of Poznań’s modernism, a space that connects generations not only of locals but also of people from outside Poznań.
The Mastershot Film Workshop took place in October inside Okrąglak. Dozens of participants joined the film set – extras, actors, performers, dancers, and a crew of filmmakers from Poznań – all brought together by their passion for cinema and this extraordinary location.
On the first day, we discussed the script with participants, planned the production, and organized work across various departments: camera, directing, set design and costume, production, lighting, and sound.
The following day was dedicated to location scouting, and most importantly, a lecture by an architect who presented the history of modernism in Poznań, with a special focus on Okrąglak. The lecture concluded with a visit to the building’s rooftop terrace – needless to say, this was a major highlight for all participants.
On the third day, the team of filmmakers and workshop participants shot a one-take film inspired by the iconic modernist structure of Okrąglak. Thanks to excellent organization, efficient teamwork, and discipline, we were able to meet high safety standards, especially the sanitary restrictions under which the workshop had to be conducted. Despite the challenges, everything went according to plan, and we successfully trained dozens of participants in one-shot filmmaking. The results included: on-set photos, a Making Of film, and the final one-take film set entirely inside Okrąglak.
